The view from Coire Mhic Fhearchair

Just returned from a long weekend in the Western Highlands, staying at The Torridon, the most luxurious country house hotel for miles, owned by Daniel and Rohaise Rose-Bristow. The location, accommodation, food, views and service are second to none.

We booked in for Mountain Guiding with the hotel's Ryan Maclean on Saturday 3rd November, and I've come away with hundreds of shots of the stunning landscape around Beinn Eighe. He took us on a 3 hour walk up to Coire Mhic Fhearchair, a large corrie on the north-west flank of Beinn Eighe. At the top there is a loch, and at the foot of the impressive Triple Buttress, lies the wreck of a Lancaster bomber which crashed in 1951.

I took this photo at the top just in front of the loch and looking out over the vast wilderness. Over to the left on the horizon, it is possible to see Lewis and Harris and to the right, views of Loch Maree. A nice place to stop for lunch, but not for too long as it was also very cold and blustery.
